Preparation before construction
Calcium silicate insulation board is easy to be damp, and its performance does not change after being damp, but it affects the masonry and subsequent processes, such as the extension of the drying time, and affects the setting and strength of the fire mud.
When distributing materials at the construction site, for refractory materials that must be kept dry, in principle, the distributed amount should not exceed the one day’s required amount. And moisture-proof measures should be taken at the construction site.
The materials should be stored and stacked according to different grades and specifications. It should not be stacked too high or stacked with other refractory materials to prevent damage due to heavy pressure.
Before masonry, the masonry surface of the equipment should be cleaned to remove rust and dust. If necessary, the surface can be cleaned with a wire brush to ensure the bonding quality.
Preparation of binder for masonry
The binding agent used for the masonry of calcium silicate insulation board is made by mixing solid and liquid materials. The mixing ratio of the solid and liquid materials must be appropriate, so that the viscosity is appropriate, and it can be applied well without flowing.
Requirements for joints and bottom mud
The joints between the calcium silicate insulation boards are connected with an adhesive, which is generally 1 to 2 mm.
The thickness of the adhesive between the calcium silicate insulation board and the equipment shell is 2 to 3 mm.
The thickness of the adhesive between the calcium silicate insulation board and the heat-resistant layer is 2 to 3 mm.
