Advantage of ceramic fiber insulation for cracking furnace

Cracking furnace is one of the key equipment in the ethylene plant. Compared with traditional refractory materials, refractory ceramic fiber insulation products have become the most ideal refractory insulation material for cracking furnaces.

Technical basis for the application of refractory ceramic fiber insulation products in ethylene cracking furnace:
Because the furnace temperature of the cracking furnace is relatively high (1300℃), and the flame center temperature is as high as 1350~1380℃, in order to select materials economically and reasonably, it is necessary to have a full understanding of various materials.
Traditional lightweight refractory bricks or refractory castable structures have large thermal conductivity and poor thermal shock resistance, resulting in overheating of the outer wall of the cracking furnace shell and large heat dissipation losses. As a new type of high-efficiency energy-saving material, refractory ceramic fiber insulation has the advantages of good thermal insulation, high temperature resistance, thermal shock and mechanical vibration resistance, and convenient for construction. It is the most ideal refractory insulation material in the world today. Compared with traditional refractory materials, it has the following advantages:
Higher operation temperature: With the development of refractory ceramic fiber insulation production and application technology, ceramic fiber insulation products have achieved their serialization and functionalization. Working temperature ranges from 600℃ to 1500℃. It has gradually formed a variety of secondary processing or deep processing products from the most traditional wool, blanket, and felt products to fiber modules, boards, special-shaped parts, paper, fiber textiles and so on. It can fully meet the needs of different types of industrial furnaces.
Next issue we will continue to introduce advantage of ceramic fiber insulation products. Please stay tuned!
