Characteristics of aluminum silicate refractory fiber 1

In non ferrous metal casting workshops, the well type, box type resistance furnaces are widely used to melt metals and heat & dry various materials. The energy consumed by these devices accounts for a large proportion of the energy consumed by the whole industry. How to reasonably utilize and save energy is one of the main problems that the industrial sector urgently needs to solve. Generally speaking, adopting energy-saving measures is easier than developing new energy sources, and insulation technology is one of the energy-saving technologies that is easy to implement and has been widely used. Among the numerous refractory insulation materials,aluminum silicate refractory fiber is being valued by people for its unique performance, and is widely used in various industrial kilns.

Aluminum silicate refractory fiber is a new type of refractory and thermal insulation material. Statistics show that using aluminum silicate refractory fiber as refractory or insulation material of resistance furnace can save more than 20% of energy, some up to 40%. Aluminum silicate refractory fiber has the following characteristics.
(1) High temperature resistance
Ordinary aluminum silicate refractory fiber is a kind of amorphous fiber made of refractory clay, bauxite or high alumina raw materials by special cooling method in the melting state. The service temperature is generally below 1000 ℃, and some can reach 1300 ℃. This is because the thermal conductivity and heat capacity of aluminum silicate refractory fiber are close to air. It is composed of solid fibers and air, with a porosity of over 90%. Due to the large amount of low thermal conductivity air filling the pores, the continuous network structure of solid molecules is disrupted, resulting in excellent heat resistance and insulation performance.
