How is insulation ceramic fiber made?

The advantages of insulation ceramic fiber are obvious. Besides excellent thermal insulation performance, it also has good refractory performance, and it is a lightweight material, which reduces the load of the furnace body and greatly reduces the steel supporting materials required by traditional installation method.

Raw materials for insulation ceramic fiber products of different temperature grades
Common insulation ceramic fiber is produced with flint clay; standard insulation ceramic fiber is produced with high-quality coal gangue with low impurity content; high-purity insulation ceramic fiber and above are produced with alumina powder and quartz sand (iron, potassium, and sodium content is less than 0.3%); high-alumina insulation ceramic fiber is also produced with alumina powder and quartz sand but the aluminum content is increased to 52-55%; the zirconium-containing products are added with 15-17% of zirconia (ZrO2). The purpose of adding zirconia is to prevent the reducibility of the amorphous fiber of insulation ceramic fiber at high temperature, which enables high temperature stability performance of insulation ceramic fiber.
