Stone Wool Board | One Insulation Solution for Building & Industry | CCEWOOL®

Stone Wool Board is a rigid inorganic fiber product made primarily from basalt and other natural minerals, and is one of the main product forms in the Stone Wool range.

During production, the mineral raw materials are melted at high temperature and fiberized through high-speed centrifugal equipment to form fine Stone Wool fibers. A controlled amount of binder is then added, followed by fiber collection, forming, curing, and cutting. The finished boards are available in different thicknesses, densities, and dimensions.

Depending on product requirements, Stone Wool Board can also be produced in standard, water-repellent, low-chloride, and various faced configurations.

CCEWOOL®-Stone-Wool-Board

Made from Natural Minerals for Thermal Insulation, Fire Protection, and Sound Absorption

Stone Wool Board consists of a dense network of fine inorganic mineral fibers that form a uniform porous structure. This structure helps reduce heat conduction and air convection, limiting heat transfer through the insulation layer.

The inorganic fiber structure also provides good fire resistance, heat resistance, and sound absorption, allowing Stone Wool Board to deliver multiple functions, including:

Thermal insulation
Fire protection
Sound absorption and noise reduction

In industrial equipment, Stone Wool Board helps reduce surface heat loss. In building structures, it helps limit heat transfer between indoor and outdoor environments while also contributing to fire and acoustic performance.

Stone Wool Board is therefore a versatile inorganic fiber insulation material suitable for both building and industrial applications.

A1 Non-Combustible Performance and Temperature Resistance up to 750°C

Made from basalt and other natural minerals, Stone Wool Board provides good high-temperature resistance and fire performance. It can achieve an A1 non-combustible classification, meaning the product itself does not contribute to combustion and produces limited smoke under fire exposure.

In addition to its fire performance, some industrial-grade Stone Wool Board products can withstand temperatures of up to approximately 750°C. This makes them suitable not only for exterior walls, curtain walls, fire barriers, and fire-rated partitions, but also for boilers, industrial equipment, storage tanks, heat exchangers, large pipelines, flue ducts, and air ducts.

Different Stone Wool Board Types for Different Applications

Stone Wool Board is available in more than one product type.

Depending on environmental humidity, equipment materials, and operating conditions, different options may be used, including standard, water-repellent, and low-chloride products.

Standard Stone Wool Board

Standard Stone Wool Board is mainly used for general building insulation, industrial equipment insulation, fire protection, and sound absorption.

For applications without special requirements for moisture resistance, low chloride content, or surface facing, standard Stone Wool Board can generally meet the basic insulation needs.

Aluminum Foil, Fiberglass Cloth, and Other Facing Options

In addition to standard unfaced boards, Stone Wool Board can be supplied with different surface facings.

Common options include:

Aluminum Foil

Aluminum foil can provide auxiliary moisture protection and surface protection while giving the insulation system a cleaner appearance.

Fiberglass Cloth

Fiberglass cloth can improve surface integrity and reduce direct abrasion of the fiber surface during transportation and installation.

Other facing materials may also be available according to project requirements.

By changing the surface structure, the same Stone Wool Board can be adapted to different installation environments and insulation system designs.

Where Is Stone Wool Board Commonly Used?

Stone Wool Board is mainly used in building and industrial insulation applications.

Building Insulation

In building applications, Stone Wool Board is commonly used in exterior walls, curtain walls, roofs, partitions, and ceilings. Different thicknesses, densities, and dimensions can be selected to suit different building structures.

Industrial Insulation

In industrial applications, Stone Wool Board is commonly used for boilers, storage tanks, air ducts, flue ducts, heat exchangers, and other industrial equipment.

Because industrial projects vary significantly in operating temperature and structural design, product specifications are generally determined according to working temperature, equipment structure, and available installation space.

From building envelopes to industrial equipment, boilers, storage tanks, flue ducts, and air ducts, CCEWOOL® Stone Wool Board is available in different product types and specifications, forming a comprehensive product range for a wide variety of building and industrial insulation requirements.
