Energy saving performance of mullite thermal insulation bricks for tunnel kilns

     The insulation of industrial kilns is one of the key factors affecting energy consumption. It is necessary to develop a product that has a long service life and can reduce the weight of furnace body. Mullite thermal insulation bricks have the characteristics of good high-temperature performance and low cost, and can be used for kiln lining. Mullite thermal insulation bricks are applied to the working lining of shuttle kilns in ceramic factories, with a normal operating temperature of around 1400 ℃. They have superior high-temperature resistance, thermal conductivity, and thermal storage performance compared to previously used materials, and have a longer service life. This improves the quality of products and production capacity of furnace, and improves the working environment. After using mullite thermal insulation bricks as the working lining, the gas consumption for each working period is about 160kg, which can save about 40kg of gas compared to the original brick concrete structure. So using mullite thermal insulation bricks has obvious energy-saving advantages.
