Application of aluminum silicate fiber board in shift converter

Application of aluminum silicate fiber board in shift converter

The traditional shift converter is lined with dense refractory materials, and the outer wall is insulated with perlite. Due to the high density of dense refractory materials, poor thermal insulation performance, high thermal conductivity, and lining thickness of about 300~350mm, the outer wall temperature of the equipment is very high, and a thick external insulation is required. Due to the high humidity in the shift converter, the lining is easily to be cracked or even peeled off, and sometimes the cracks penetrate directly to the tower wall, shortening the service life of the cylinder. The following is to use all aluminum silicate fiber board as the inner lining of shift converter and change the external thermal insulation to internal thermal insulation.

The working pressure of the shift converter is 0.8MPa, the gas flow speed is not high, the scouring is light, and the temperature is not high. These basic conditions make it possible to change the dense refractory material to the aluminum silicate fiber board structure. Use aluminum silicate fiber board as the inner lining of tower equipment, only need to paste the fiber board with adhesive and make sure the seams between boards are staggered. During the process of pasting, all sides of aluminum silicate fiber board should be applied with adhesive. At the top where needs sealing, nails should be used to prevent the fiber board from falling.
Next issue we will continue to introduce the essentials of application of aluminum silicate fiber board in shift converter, so stay tuned!
