Analysis of factors affecting the performance of refractory ceramic fiber products

Refractory ceramic fiber products have the characteristics of high temperature resistance, low density, good thermal insulation performance, good chemical stability, good thermal shock resistance, good wind erosion resistance, convenient for construction, etc. It is the most promising energy saving and environmental friendly thermal insulation material in the world today.

However, refractory ceramic fiber products also have some disadvantages in application: poor stability, poor corrosion resistance, poor air erosion resistance, and poor anti-stripping performance. When refractory ceramic fiber products being exposed to high temperature for long time, due to the crystallization and grain growth of glass fibers , high temperature creep and other factors, resulting in changes in fiber structure - shrinkage deformation, loss of elasticity, embrittlement and fracture, fiber strength reduction, densification, until sintering and loss of fibrous structure, coupled with corrosive furnace gas erosion, airflow erosion, etc, the refractory ceramic fiber products are easy to powder and fall off.
Refractory ceramic fiber products are used under different conditions, and their long-term working temperatures are different. Such as industrial kiln operating system (continuous or intermittent kiln), fuel type, furnace atmosphere and other process conditions are all factors that affect the service temperature and service life of ceramic fibers.
Next issue we will continue to introduce factors affecting the performance of refractory ceramic fiber products.
